Here's an interesting program that the Howard County Library is hosting:

Eye Level: A Photo Study of Life in Howard County

    FREE CAMERA!

We want to see life in Howard County through your eyes. Where do you find joy? Where do you see challenges? What do you wish others knew about how you experience life in this community? In the tradition of “Great Democratic Art”, Howard County Library System puts cameras in the hands of nearly 100 people throughout the various neighborhoods in Howard County.

Take part in a workshop and group photo exhibition showcasing life in Howard County, Maryland. Participants are required to use disposable cameras provided by HCLS, and submit photos that offer authentic views into the lives and activities of Howard County residents and workforce.

Workshop I includes information on the project, the history of street photography, guidance on composition, and participants will receive a disposable camera.

Workshop II focuses on developing an artist statement and selecting a photograph. No experience with photography is required. This two part workshop will culminate with a group photo exhibition at the Central Branch in May.

*Registration is required. Register online or by calling 410-313-5077.
