CMPG Monthly Meeting

Our speaker for July 27th is Art Silverglate, co-organizer of the Creative Exposure Meetup Group and the Howard County Photographers. A graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, he has been a staff photographer for the Bronx Home News and has taught photography at the Bronx House Community Center. Art is a wedding photographer and a volunteer photographer for nonprofits in the Baltimore-DC metroplex.

Art will be speaking on "Lighting: What makes photography work." He will discuss different types of single-light lighting for still-life and portraiture, including:

• Rembrandt

• Split lighting

• Key lighting

• Loop

• Butterfly

• Badger

• Flat light

• Clamshell

• High-key lighting.

Art will give members an assignment and return at the August meeting to critique the resulting photographs.
