"We advance the art and science of photography through technical and aesthetic educational programs and through public service photography."

Our first spring outing will be to the Hillwood Estate in Washington DC, the former home of Marjorie Merriweather Post (of Grape Nuts and Merriweather Pavilion fame!). The site has a large mansion house with opulent interiors for touring, 25 acres of formal gardens, and a café for informal light dining. Details about the venue are available at: https://hillwoodmuseum.org/
We are planning to visit on Thursday, March 30 and will meet at the estate at 10:30 am in the parking lot. Free Parking is available on site and guests are invited. Tickets are required for entrance to the house and gardens and are available online and at the venue (online tickets are discounted - $15 for adults and $13 for seniors). It is not clear whether docents will be available on that day for guided tours, but Hillwood does offer an app that provides guided tours thorough your phone.
We anticipate that attendees will tour at their own pace and will visit the café if they desire. The estate closes at 5:00 pm.
NOTE: Handheld photography is allowed in the house (no tripods, monopods, or flash). Tripods are allowed in the gardens outside.
