Update to the Jug Bay Outing on May 17
Our guide is Matt Felperin. He is a Maryland Naturalist, an expert birder, and an experienced photographer. The trip on May 17 coincides with spring bird migrations as well as bird nesting. The pontoon boat we will be on is very stable, roomy, and easy to access. It is perfect for picture taking and even new photographers can get amazing shots.
Arrival time is 5:30am and the boat will depart at 6:00am. This is the time of sunrise at Jug Bay and will allow for beautiful sunrise photos. It also coincides when the birds become active. Plan to arrive in parking lot no later than 5:30 am.
We will finish about lunch time, so bring a lunch and tables are available at the parking area. We did this same outing last fall and it was a wonderful experience, despite the early rising.
The address is 16000 Croom Airport Road Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. Other information is available at http://patuxentwatertrail.org/pointofinterest/jugs-bay-natural-area/.
