Cylburn Arboretum is a great photo opportunity in the spring, starting mid-March, with an explosion of daffodil's around the grounds of the 200 acres of trees, gardens, trails of peace and serenity.
I made a site survey Feb 27th to see the daffodil's above ground and budding. My best guess is they will begin blooming soon, Last year the flowers were declining by St. Patrick's Day. I am targeting Saturday, March 9th for this year's visit. Let's meet in the parking lot at 8:30am. Morning is the best time to shoot, due to low crowd activity, best light (if there is any) and possible ground fog.
The weather forecast is iffy this time of year, so it's best to pack for possible showers. I would also suggest bringing a pair of kneepads for low angle or macro photography. Home Depot has cheap gardening kneepads for $6.99.
Other bloomers that may of may not be ready include the tulip magnolia trees and, in the woods, Virginia bluebells. And, of course, the "Bates Motel" style Cylburn Mansion is always a photo attraction.
