Join us for our next General Meeting, Wednesday, June 5th, 7:00pm, LIVE ONLY, at the Elkridge Branch Library, 6540 Washington Blvd, Elkridge. (Doors open at 6:30pm.)

We are excited to welcome back David Hobby, as he kicks off his new book "The Traveling Photographer's Manifesto", release date May 15thDavid first spoke to our club in 2007. CMPG's was the very first of what turned out to be hundreds of Strobist lighting seminars, held literally all over the world. We are the first to see his new presentation! We think it is very cool that he will be starting this book journey out in the very same way.

His presentation,  Travel Photography: How to learn to see beyond camera techniques to embrace the more important interpersonal components of being a photographer, should not be missed!

BIO:

David Hobby photographed more than 10,000 editorial assignments while working for two decades as a staff photojournalist in the Baltimore-Washington area. In 2007, he left The Baltimore Sun to found Strobist.com, which he published for 15 years.

In 2013, he began teaching location-based travel photography workshops. He continues that to this day as cofounder and lead instructor for X-Peditions. Now based out of Hanoi, Vietnam, X-Peditions' workshops are designed to help people merge their human and photographic experiences while traveling with their camera.
