Join us for a morning at Kenilworth Gardens! We will meet in the parking lot at 08:00 on Friday June 28, weather permitting, then, perhaps, move over to the nearby National Arboretum, afterwards. It's best to get to Kenilworth early, as the blossoms start closing as the sun gets higher!
Although not yet fully populated, there is enough to declare an outing! There are a few areas of full population of blooming lotus. There are many ponds of blooming water lily's. Plenty of dragon flies and pollenating bees, as well as the resident frogs. On a cloudless day, it is very bright and contrasty. We recommend bringing a diffuser, or something similar, for portable shade. There are not many areas where the flowers are shaded. A longer focal length of 200+ mm is a good idea, if you want to get closer for details. A tripod is optional. And, of course, Knee Pads, for lower perspectives, As this is a naturally swampy area, It's always a good idea to wear water resistant footwear. Bug spray and sunscreen are also a good idea.
