A Touch of Color Challenge

When:

Wednesday, 19 August 2026, 6:30 to 9:00 PM (sunset: 7:57 PM)

Where:

Meet at Tiber Park in Old Ellicott City, at Maryland Avenue and Main Street, across from the B&O Museum.

Introduction:

Our next Hands-On Group activity is the Touch of Color Challenge. This is an activity for all skill levels. We’ll explore downtown Ellicott City shooting in Black & White. But there is a twist. While processing, we’ll add color to compliment the visual interest of the photograph. At least two techniques will be provided in the form of processing tutorials.

Overview:

Color is descriptive. Black and white is interpretive. – Elliott Erwitt*

We'll explore Old Ellicott City for about an hour in small groups on what I hope will be a lovely summer evening.  We'll meet back at Tiber Park to discuss our experiences.  Please bring your patience and cooperation and remember this is an exercise - please do not overly frustrate yourself.  Make this an enjoyable experience.
